Week 24 R ~ Rock {2/27 - 3/9/2012}

Well this week's lesson took two weeks because I got the stomach bug at the end of the first week. We are done now, but instead of starting another topic mid week we are just having a relaxed week. We also celebrated our 100th day of school this week (own post will be coming) and Daddy had Friday off this week so we are planning to go swimming!

So... Rock... We read books on the different kinds of Rocks there are and how some Rocks are made from lava. We also studied that Jesus is our Rock and we are to build our lives on him.

Our memory verse was Matthew 7:24 Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house in the rock.

We also learned the song, "The Wise Man Built His House Upon the Rock"

Some fun things we did is I got some "rocks" from the dollar store and we counted them and them grouped them by color, and after we grouped then we lined them up by size.



We also did an experiment of what lava looks like coming out of a volcano...

and yes, some days we do school in our pj's!! : )
